Online SHEP Facilitated Parents of Children with Autism Support Sessions

Spring 2022

Following a request from some parents in 2018, a ten session support space has developed through SHEP. The sessions are open to any parent or guardian of a child with a diagnosis of Autism or presenting with the signs of Autism, but as yet without a completed assessment.

Because of the Covid-19 restrictions, the support sessions continue to be offered through online zoom sessions.

As the current public health situation continues, SHEP continues to adapt all of its programmes for this coming Spring. While the Project’s heart remains primarily with offering face-to-face experiences for participants in groups, those options alone may not yet be feasible without disruption. For some people, participating in an ‘in-person’ course, may not be possible due to health vulnerabilities for themselves or others. We have adapted the programme to respond to what we consider will be feasible for people and the support sessions for this particular group are being offered online through Zoom in the spring.
