Caring For Our Well-Being.
Caring for Our Well-being’ is a well established course which was developed in response to a need in the community for short courses whose particular focus is supporting people to take charge of their own well-being. Most people in their lives have experience of mental and emotional distress. Sometimes, people go through periods of significant distress which affects their health and well-being.
A supportive space where people are facilitated to build their resources and resilience can be very helpful. The course design and content draws on the experience of participants and facilitators from the initial pilot programme in 2013/2014. The course is now one of SHEP’ regular offerings.
Participants will have the opportunity of exploring questions in an enjoyable, interactive way, questions such as:
- What is well-being?
- How do I know when I’m well?
- What helps me stay well?
- What happens me when I’m feeling stressed and distressed?
- What can I do about it?
Depending on the needs of the group, the course will include topics such as: ● communication for health and well-being● self-support and self-esteem ● setting healthy limits for myself ● understanding my feelings ● stress management skills ● gathering resources to support my wellbeing ● developing my own wellness plan ● identifying my networks of support.
