Community Governance Enhancement Programme

 

The Community Governance Enhancement Programme developed over time as guidance and facilitation support were sought from the Project by organisations availing of its other services.  The programme reflects the Project’s commitment to bring about justice-oriented social change through the promotion of values-led deliberative governance in organisations in the community and voluntary sectors.  The Community Governance Enhancement Programme is primarily delivered by members of the Project’s staff, drawing, as necessary, on other resource people with relevant expertise.  From 2007 onwards, however, the programme will be strengthened by the contribution of those who have undertaken specialised practitioner training in organisational mentoring.  The principal services offered under the Community Governance Enhancement Programme are organisational development facilitation, organisational development consultation and organisational development mentoring.    

 

Organisational Development Facilitation Programme

 

Through the Organisational Development Facilitation Programme, the Project provides facilitators with significant organisational awareness and experience to conduct workshops that are focused on different processes of governance, including values clarification, purpose definition, role definition, strategic and action planning, programme review and programme evaluation.  The Project’s facilitators document workshop outcomes. 

 

Organisational Development Consultation Programme 

 

Through the Organisational Development Consultation Programme, the Project provides specific support and guidance to organisations in the community and voluntary sectors.  Consultation services include the analysis of organisational structures, processes and resources, and the manner in which these respective elements relate to organisational purpose.  They also include the identification of options for developmental change and the delivery of training and other supports for the management of transition.      

 

Organisational Development Mentoring Programme 

 

Through the Organisational Development Mentoring Programme, the Project will be able to make Organisational Mentors available to support organisations in the community and voluntary sectors.  As well as providing services similar to those provided through the Consultation Programme, Mentors will be able to maintain a more sustained relationship with organisations, serving as an external sounding board and intervening as required to support effective organisational governance.
