Do you need extra support to access your rights and entitlements? SHEP’s Cork Advocacy Service may be able to assist you.

Cork Advocacy Service (CAS) is an independent, volunteer-resourced advocacy project developed and operated by The Social and Health Education Project (SHEP).

We have a small team of experienced advocates (mostly volunteers) who can provide advocacy support. On a free, confidential and one-to-one basis, they will give time to listen to people’s concerns and work out, with them, how advocacy might support them. In so far as possible, the volunteer advocates will then work alongside people to achieve their aims.

The service is open to adults who due to difficulties of health, disability or ageing may be limited in their ability to have their voice heard and who do not have access to other advocacy supports.  If appropriate we can refer people to other advocacy services.

The key strengths of our advocacy service are:

  • It’s fully independent
  • It’s free
  • It’s confidential
  • We work with trained, committed and experienced volunteer advocates
  • Our service is flexible and  supportive.

You can see our Cork Advocacy Service Leaflet here. Please feel free to phone us or email us to send you a hard copy of this leaflet in the post.

If you feel we can help you, or someone on your behalf, please contact the SHEP office (021) 4666180.
