SHEP is a Community Education and Development Project established in Ireland in 1974.

Our key areas of work include: a unique training programme based on experiential group work approaches; low-cost counselling; advocacy; providing specialist support to community based organisations organisations, and international partnership.

Most of our work is in Cork, Kerry and the Mid-West, and we now also work on a smaller scale in some other counties, on a small scale. SHEP also supports the work of our international partner, Sahakarmi Samaj, which works in southwest Nepal.

SHEP is a registered charity, Reg. Charity No: 20025120 and a not-for-profit company which is limited by guarantee (CRO no. 167824). Our registered office is at The Old Primary School, Ardfoyle Avenue, Ballintemple, Cork City.

We hope you enjoy our website. Here you’ll find information about the project and the various services we offer, as well as ways in which you can become involved. If you cannot find the information you are looking for here, then please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We would like to thank everyone who has played a part in helping the project to grow and develop since 1974 to become the great success story that it is.
